Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)
- Launched
- In 2015, PKVY is an extension of Soil Health Management under the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
- Aim
- The program aims to promote organic farming, reduce reliance on fertilizers and agricultural chemicals, improve soil health, and link organic food with modern marketing tools and local markets.
- Covernace
- It has almost 315 regional councils and approximately 8.89 lakh farmers associated with it.
- Fund Distribution
- It is 60:40 funded by Central and State Government. The Central Assistance will be given in the ratio of 90:10 to North Eastern and Himalayan States.
- Objective
- The basic objective of PKVY is to make available chemical residue and pesticide-free agricultural produces using eco-friendly, low cost technologies.
- Key Areas
- Key areas are promoting organic farming among the rural youth, disseminating the latest technologies, and demonstration at the cluster level.
- Implementation
- This scheme is implemented by the Organic Farming cell of the Integrated Nutrient Management (Division) of the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW).
