The Ministry of Education approved five Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Pali and Prakrit.
Assamese: Tezpur University; Bengali: Visva-Bharati.
Marathi: Deccan College, Pune; Pali: Central University of Odisha; Prakrit: Central University of Gujarat.
The centres will focus on research, preservation, digitisation and wider dissemination of classical-language heritage.
