Phase I only shortlists. The final merit of 250 comes from Phase II (200 marks) and the interview (50), and Paper I of Phase II — General English, 100 marks — is fully descriptive: essay, précis, comprehension, report or letter writing, typed on computer. Paper II (ESI and ARD) now carries descriptive answers too. The candidates who write with structure are the ones who move up the list; this course teaches that writing and reads every answer you submit.

How much time do I need every day?

Are the notes enough, or do I need standard books?
The notes carry the syllabus. Books help for depth in one or two areas, and the mentors tell you which.
