- Contribution: Recognised for outstanding research in algebraic number theory.
- Significance: He becomes the fifth Indian recipient, following Sujatha Ramdorai, Amalendu Krishna, Ritabrata Munshi and Neena Gupta.
- Award Details: The prize has been awarded annually since 2005 to outstanding mathematicians under 45 from developing countries. It is jointly presented by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the International Mathematical Union (IMU) and India’s Department of Science and Technology (DST).
