What is Section 17A?

  • Section 17A was inserted by the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
  • It bars any police officer from conducting an enquiry, inquiry, or investigation into offences under the Act without prior approval, where:
    • The alleged offence relates to a decision or recommendation made in official duty.
