What ‘Har Ghar Jal’ Certification Means?

  • A village is certified only after the Gram Sabha passes a resolution confirming that every household in the village has a functional tap connection with adequate quantity and prescribed quality of water.
  • The certification is therefore a community declaration, not an administrative claim — which is what distinguishes it from a simple count of connections installed.
