Context:
On August 6, 2025, Tata AIA Life Insurance launched “Shubh Shakti”, a term insurance plan exclusively designed for women. The initiative targets rising female workforce participation and the persistent gender gap in financial planning and insurance coverage in India.
Key Features of ‘Shubh Shakti’:
- 15% Lower Premiums for Women: Compared to male counterparts for the same coverage.
- Premium Holiday During Pregnancy: A 12-month premium break is offered after each childbirth.
- Child Education Benefit: Monthly income payments for up to three children until they turn 25.
- Premium Waiver: In case of husband’s death or accidental death, premiums are waived, but coverage continues.
- Health Support Services:
- PCOD and IVF counseling
- Weight management
- Cervical cancer and HPV vaccination support
