Introduction

Launched on 1st July 2015, the Digital India Mission is a flagship initiative by the Government of India aimed at transforming the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. 1. BharatNet ProjectBharatNet Project

  • Aims to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to rural areas through optical fiber networks.
  • Targets to connect over 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats (village councils).

2. Aadhaar – Unique Identification Number

  • Provides a biometric-based digital identity to every citizen.
  • Facilitates direct benefit transfer (DBT) and financial inclusion.

3. UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance)

4. DigiLocker

7. Make in India and Startup India

  • Promotes digital entrepreneurship and the growth of startups in the technology sector.

  • Introduction of platforms like BHIM UPI (Unified Payments Interface), Rupay Card, and Aadhaar-Enabled Payment System (AEPS).
