What Is the Survey?
- India’s first all-India household travel survey
- It records why people travel, how they travel, how far, for how long and how much they spend
- Covered 4.92 lakh households and over 20.34 lakh persons
- Conducted by the NSO under MoSPI
- Important note: in this survey, “travel” means a trip of 1 km or more. Shorter trips are not counted
