Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday, 29 June 2026 launched the “SUMAN Roadmap 2030” at the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. SUMAN = Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan. Present were Union Ministers of State for Health Smt. Anupriya Patel and Shri Prataprao Jadhav, State/UT Health Ministers, and senior MoHFW officials. The roadmap — spearheaded by the Maternal Health Division of MoHFW under the RMNCHA+N (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child & Adolescent Health plus Nutrition) framework — aims to accelerate India’s progress toward the SDG targets on maternal/newborn health: reduce MMR to below 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030, further lower NMR and IMR, achieve universal saturation of maternal/newborn services, and eliminate preventable deaths. Targeted, time-bound strategies will be deployed across 130 high-burden districts in 13 States.
