SEBI declares results as PDFs on its own website, stage by stage. There is no third-party portal, no SMS with your marks, and no scorecard of the kind banks publish. Knowing exactly what appears, and when, saves a lot of refreshing.
Where results appear
Go to sebi.gov.in and open the Careers section. Each stage is published as a PDF listing the registration or roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified. Find yours with your browser’s search rather than reading down the list.
Nothing is sent to you separately. Interview call letters and later intimations go to the email and mobile number you registered with, which is why that email must be one you still read months later.

Two things follow from that structure. First, your Phase 1 marks disappear after Phase 1 — they do not enter the final merit at any point. Second, by the time the Phase 2 result is out, 85% of your final score is already fixed.

The 2025–26 cycle, with the official dates:

Phase 1 results have typically followed the exam within two to three weeks, which is what makes the six-week gap to Phase 2 so unforgiving: if you wait for the result before starting Phase 2 preparation, you have already spent a third of the window. From Phase 2 to the final result took about four months last cycle, most of it interviews and verification.
What the result does not tell you
SEBI’s result PDFs carry qualified roll numbers, not individual marks. Cut off marks are published for the cycle, so you can see the line, but you will not generally see a section-wise breakdown of your own performance the way a bank result page shows one.
This has a practical consequence for anyone who misses: you will not be handed a diagnosis. The way to find out what went wrong is to sit the previous year papers again under time, honestly, and compare your Phase 2 stream paper and descriptive English scores against the cut off — see the cut off history for the numbers.
After the final result
- Document verification — originals of every certificate claimed in the application: degree, category, age proof, and experience where it was counted in the merit.
- Medical examination as prescribed.
- Offer and joining, followed by a two-year probation. Last cycle’s joining came about a month after the final result.
- Waiting list candidates are called if selected candidates decline or do not join. This is real — do not write off a waiting-list position.
If you missed by a few marks
There is no attempt limit on SEBI Grade A, so the age limit is the only real ceiling — most candidates have several cycles left. The cut off band has been narrow and stable, between 62 and 67 in Phase 2, which means a near miss is usually a small, identifiable gap rather than a verdict.
The two places that gap most often sits: the descriptive English paper, where five marks are available to anyone who practises it, and the stream Paper 2, where a second pass at depth beats a first pass at breadth. Both are covered in the preparation strategy.
