NABARD and ICAR-NIRCA Collaborate to Train FPOs

NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) has partnered with ICAR–National Institute for Research on Commercial Agriculture (NIRCA), Rajahmundry.

• The collaboration aims to train Farmers’ Producers Organisations (FPOs) and farmers in:
  • Post-harvest management
  • Processing technologies for turmeric and chilli

Significance of the Training

• Turmeric and chilli are highly susceptible to:
  • Moisture damage
  • Microbial contamination
• Adoption of modern post-harvest techniques is expected to:
  • Enhance crop value
  • Improve market competitiveness
  • Reduce post-harvest losses
