ASI Decodes Sanskrit Inscription Found in POK

Context:

The ancient Sanskrit inscription got excavated outside Gilgit, Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and was deciphered by the ASI epigraph division.

Key Highlights:

• The inscription is in Brahmi script and dates back to about the 4th century C
• The inscription reads, “Pushpasingha, for his guru´s merit, caused the Mahesvaralinga to be installed.”
